A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Start off your visit on the 27th (Sat): tour the pleasant surroundings at Philharmonic Park. Here are some ideas for day two: get outside with Baku Funicular and then make a trip to National Flag Square.

Drive from Baku to Sheki in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a train. Expect little chillier evenings in Sheki when traveling from Baku in November, with lows around 5°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Tue) so you can drive to Shamakhi.

Kick off your visit on the 1st (Wed): appreciate the history behind Sculpture Girl on Bench, then examine the collection at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, then don't miss a visit to Baku Boulevard, and finally see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center. On the 2nd (Thu), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in panoramic vistas at Flame Towers and then contemplate the long history of Baku Old City.

Traveling by car from Shamakhi to Baku takes 2 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or do a combination of taxi and bus.
