The City of Poets and Former Ancient Capital of the Country

Azerbaijan's former capital surrounded by fine countryside and packed with cultural heritage, Shamakhi is one of Azerbaijan’s most historic cities and the birthplace of legendary Azerbaijani poets Sabir and Nesimi.
Start off your visit on the 24th (Tue): examine the collection at Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, learn about winemaking at Meyseri Wines, then explore the ancient world of Yeddi Gumbaz Mausoleum, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Juma Mosque.
