A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Fri): go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, see the interesting displays at National Museum of Azerbaijan Literature, and then make a trip to Baku Old City. Keep things going the next day: pause for some photo ops at Sabir Park, then explore the striking landscape at Yanardag, then see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center, and finally shop like a local with Nizami Street/Torgovaya.

Kannur, India to Baku is an approximately 15-hour flight. You can also drive. Traveling from Kannur to Baku, you'll gain 1.5 hours due to the time zone difference. In July, daily temperatures in Baku can reach 36°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. You will leave for Gabala on the 18th (Sun).

If you're fed up of the concrete jungle, take a trip to Gabala for the perfect getaway.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Savalan ASPI Winery and Gabala Archaeological Center. Get outdoors at Tufandag Winter Summer Resort and Nohur Lake. There's still lots to do: get in on the family fun at Gabaland and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Gabala City Mosque.

You can drive from Baku to Gabala in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Baku in July, plan for slightly colder nights in Gabala, with lows around 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Tue) so you can drive to Gobustan.

Gobustan

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.

Getting from Gabala to Gobustan by car takes about 2 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi and train. Traveling from Gabala in July, Gobustan is a bit warmer at night with lows of 26°C. On the 22nd (Thu), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can travel back home.
