Muscat, Oman to Baku is an approximately 8.5-hour flight. Traveling from Muscat in May, expect Baku to be cooler, temps between 28°C and 17°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sat) to allow enough time to fly to Ganja.

Ganja — 2 nights

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Start off your visit on the 29th (Sun): get a taste of the local shopping with Javad Khan Street and then buy something for everyone on your list at Ganja Mall. Here are some ideas for day two: explore the activities along Lake Goygol and then explore the activities along Maralgol lake.

Traveling by flight from Baku to Ganja takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 29°C in May, and nighttime lows around 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 30th (Mon) early enough to catch the train to Gobustan.

Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 31st (Tue): get a new perspective on nature at Gobustan State Reserve.
