A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Family-friendly places like Baku Old City and Flame Towers will thrill your kids. Change things up with a short trip to Gobustan State Reserve in Gobustan (about 1h 5 min away). There's much more to do: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, pause for some photo ops at Vahid Monument, identify plant and animal life at Wildlife Areas, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Yanardag.

Tehran, Iran to Baku is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. You'll lose 0.5 hours traveling from Tehran to Baku due to the time zone difference. Traveling from Tehran in March, expect Baku to be a bit cooler, temps between 13°C and 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Mon) to allow time to drive to Gusar.
