If you're fed up of the concrete jungle, take a trip to Gabala for the perfect getaway.
On the 15th (Fri), find something for the whole family at Gabaland and then hit the slopes at Tufandag Winter Summer Resort. Here are some ideas for day two: explore the activities along Yeddi Gozel Waterfall and then explore the activities along Nohur Lake.

Getting from Baku to Gabala by car takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a bus; or do a combination of train and taxi. Traveling from Baku in July, expect little chillier with lows of 21°C in Gabala. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sat) so you can go by car to Gobustan.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 17th (Sun): get a new perspective on nature at Gobustan State Reserve and then make a trip to Mud Volcanoes.

You can drive from Gabala to Gobustan in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and train. Traveling from Gabala in July, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Gobustan, with lows of 26°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight back home.
