A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Get a sense of the local culture at Baku Old City and Baku Boulevard. Shop till you drop at Nizami Street/Torgovaya and Ali Shamsi Studio. There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, tee off at Dreamland Golf Club, explore the world behind art at Museum of Modern Art, and enjoy breathtaking views from Flame Towers.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to Baku is an approximately 8-hour flight. You can also drive. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Riyadh to Baku due to the time zone difference. Plan for colder temperatures traveling from Riyadh in June, with highs in Baku at 33°C and lows at 22°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Mon) early enough to fly to Ganja.

Ganja — 2 nights

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Start off your visit on the 28th (Tue): make a trip to Javad Khan Street and then browse the different shops at Ganja Mall. On the 29th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Goygol and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Maralgol lake.

Fly from Baku to Ganja in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. June in Ganja sees daily highs of 35°C and lows of 22°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) so you can take a train to Gobustan.

Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Thu): see the interesting displays at Gobustan State Reserve and then don't miss a visit to Mud Volcanoes.
