Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.Start off your visit on the 28th (Tue): make a trip to Javad Khan Street and then browse the different shops at Ganja Mall. On the 29th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Goygol and then tour the pleasant surroundings at Maralgol lake.

Fly from Baku to Ganja in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or drive. June in Ganja sees daily highs of 35°C and lows of 22°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 29th (Wed) so you can take a train to Gobustan.
