The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Head to Nizami Street/Torgovaya and Ganja Mallfor some retail therapy. Baku Old City and Alley of Martyrs will appeal to history buffs. There's still lots to do: take in the pleasant sights at Baku Boulevard, see the interesting displays at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, don't miss a visit to Fountains Square, and tee off at Dreamland Golf Club.

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Baku is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. The time zone difference when traveling from Jeddah to Baku is 1 hour. In June, Baku is little chillier than Jeddah - with highs of 33°C and lows of 22°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 7th (Mon) so you can go by car to Gobustan.

Gobustan

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
On the 8th (Tue), examine the collection at Gobustan State Reserve.

You can drive from Baku to Gobustan in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. In June, daily temperatures in Gobustan can reach 33°C, while at night they dip to 22°C. You will have some time to spend on the 8th (Tue) before leaving for home.
