The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Venture out of the city with trips to Gobustan (Mud Volcanoes, Gobustan State Reserve, &more) and Mardakan Fortress (in Mardakan). There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Baku Old City, see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center, explore the ancient world of Ateshgah Fire Temple, and take an in-depth tour of National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.

To find traveler tips, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Baku trip itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Serbia, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In March in Baku, expect temperatures between 13°C during the day and 5°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 28th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
