The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Baku Old City and Baku Boulevard. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Taza Pir Mosque. Change things up with a short trip to Gobustan State Reserve in Gobustan (about 1h 5 min away). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, enjoy breathtaking views from Flame Towers, get the lay of the land with Walking tours, and explore the different monuments and memorials at Alley of Martyrs.

If you are flying in from Pakistan, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. In October in Baku, expect temperatures between 21°C during the day and 14°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Thu) to allow enough time to travel back home.
