A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Gobustan State Reserve and Baku Old City. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Nizami Street/Torgovaya and Ganja Mall. Step out of Baku to go to Khizi and see Candy Cane Mountains, which is approximately 1h 45 min away. Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, get a taste of the local shopping with Ali Shamsi Studio, explore the different monuments and memorials at Alley of Martyrs, and step into the grandiose world of Palace of the Shirvanshahs.

If you are flying in from Saudi Arabia, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 19°C in April, and nighttime lows around 9°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 10th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
