The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Head to Nizami Street/Torgovaya and Ali Shamsi Studiofor some retail therapy. Step out of the city life by going to Gobustan State Reserve and Yanardag. When in Baku, make a side trip to see Candy Cane Mountains in Khizi, approximately Khizi away. The adventure continues: don't miss a visit to Baku Old City, examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, stroll the grounds of Alley of Martyrs, and step into the grandiose world of Palace of the Shirvanshahs.

For other places to visit, more things to do, ratings, and other tourist information, refer to the Baku trip itinerary planner.

If you are flying in from Saudi Arabia, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 19°C in April, and nighttime lows around 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
