A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
You've now added Nizami Street/Torgovaya to your itinerary. Go for a jaunt from Baku to Gobustan to see Gobustan State Reserve about 1h 5 min away. Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
Kick off your visit on the 16th (Thu): pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Kish, then don't miss a visit to Sheki Fortress, then admire the masterpieces at Museum of Folk and Applied Arts, and finally contemplate the long history of Sheki Khans' Palace. On the 17th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: get in on the family fun at Gabaland and then ski along the peaceful trails at Tufandag Winter Summer Resort.

Drive from Baku to Sheki in 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a train. In July, daily temperatures in Sheki can reach 36°C, while at night they dip to 24°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 18th (Sat) to allow time for travel back home.
