A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
Kick off your visit on the 9th (Wed): stroll through Heydar Aliyev Park and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Imamzadeh Mausoleum. Here are some ideas for day two: explore the wealth of natural beauty at Lake Goygol and then contemplate the waterfront views at Maralgol lake.

Getting from Baku to Ganja by flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or drive. In February, daily temperatures in Ganja can reach 11°C, while at night they dip to 1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Thu) so you can catch the train to Gobustan.
