Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Baku is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also fly; or drive. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Dubai in May: high temperatures in Baku hover around 28°C and lows are around 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 4th (Sat) early enough to drive to Sheki.

Sheki — 1 night

Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
On the 5th (Sun), don't miss a visit to Sheki Fortress, then steep yourself in history at Sheki Khans' Palace, and then pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Kish.

Traveling by car from Baku to Sheki takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a train. In June, plan for daily highs up to 34°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to go by car to Gobustan.

Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Start off your visit on the 6th (Mon): learn more about the world around you at Gobustan State Reserve and then make a trip to Mud Volcanoes.

Traveling by car from Sheki to Gobustan takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. June in Gobustan sees daily highs of 33°C and lows of 22°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) to allow enough time to fly back home.
