A Young Spirit Located in an Ancient Land

Famous as the birthplace of legendary poet Nizami, Ganja is a truly ancient city still bearing traces of the myriad kingdoms and empires that ruled over it in the past.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Ganja: Sheki (Winter Palace, Sheki Khans' Palace, &more). Spend the 1st (Tue) exploring at Lake Goygol. There's much more to do: explore the activities along Maralgol lake, walk around Khan's Garden, take in the spiritual surroundings of Imamzadeh Mausoleum, and admire the striking features of Bottle House.

Baku to Ganja is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Plan for little chillier nights when traveling from Baku in November since evenings lows in Ganja dip to 5°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Thu) to allow time to travel to Baku.

The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Get out of town with these interesting Baku side-trips: Gobustan (Gobustan State Reserve & Mud Volcanoes). There's still lots to do: go for a walk through Baku Boulevard, take in panoramic vistas at Flame Towers, see the interesting displays at Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, and contemplate the long history of Baku Old City.
