Sheki is Azerbaijan’s true travel gem, a small city off the forested slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains rich in Silk Road history and renowned for its fascinating architecture, food, and friendly residents.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Fri): make a trip to Sheki Fortress, take an in-depth tour of Sheki Khans' Palace, then admire the striking features of Sheki Karvansaray, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Kish.

Traveling by car from Baku to Sheki takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of flight and taxi; or take a train. In April in Sheki, expect temperatures between 64°F during the day and 46°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) early enough to travel to Goygol.

Luscious Lakes Sculpted by Nature and a German Spirit

Located in the western part of Azerbaijan, Goygol and its surrounding countryside remain one of the most picturesque regions in the country.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Sat): make a trip to St. John's Church and then identify plant and animal life at Lake Goygol. On your second day here, get engrossed in the history at The Museum of History and Ethnography.
