The City of Eternal Flames, the City of Winds

A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.
Attractions like Baku Old City and Baku Boulevard make great kid-friendly stops. Explore Baku's surroundings by going to Gobustan (Gobustan State Reserve & Mud Volcanoes), Masazir Lake (in Masazir) and Dalga Beach Aquapark Resort (in Mardakan). There's still lots to do: examine the collection at Heydar Aliyev Center, take in panoramic vistas at Flame Towers, don't miss a visit to Yanardag, and delve into the distant past at Ateshgah Fire Temple.

If you are flying in from Mexico, the closest major aiport is Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 33°C in June, and nighttime lows around 22°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 9th (Tue) early enough to travel back home.
